U.S. F2000 and Speedvision Form New Relationship

4 March 1999

FAIRFIELD, N.J.The U.S. F2000 National Championship announced a new relationship with the Speedvision Network for 1999, with exclusive television rights and presenting sponsorship for all 14 U.S. F2000 1999 races going to the Stamford, Conn.-based television network.

Beginning with the March 28 season opener at the Phoenix International Raceway one-mile oval, the Speedvision Network will produce and air one-hour programs to be broadcast in prime-time slots on a tape-delayed basis. Gary Lee and Calvin Fish have been slated as the oval commentators, with Greg Creamer and Fish doing all road course events. John Bisignano will be the lead pit reporter for all broadcasts.

To continue the growth and exposure of the U.S. F2000, a top-notch and dedicated television package is necessary, and were pleased to begin this relationship with the Speedvision Network, said Dan Andersen, series co-promoter. Anyone who has ever seen a Speedvision race broadcast knows that there is no better coverage for motorsports in North America.

Each broadcast is initially scheduled to air two to three weeks following the race, in prime-time slots between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (ET). All broadcasts will be produced live-to-tape with a minimum of two in-car cameras to put the viewer in the drivers seat with the best young talent in open-wheel racing today. Speedvision will also produce and air a Season-in-Review at the conclusion of the 1999 campaign.

In addition to furnishing television coverage, The Speedvision Network will assume the position of presenting sponsorship for all 14 U.S. F2000 races this year, resulting in additional marketing and advertising exposure for the series and its drivers. All races will be known as the U.S. F2000 National Championship Presented by Speedvision.

The addition of the top developmental open-wheel category to our motorsports programming is an important one, said Roger L. Werner Jr., Speedvisions President and CEO. The U.S. F2000 brings some of the most exciting and unpredictable action with the future stars of Indy cars to the track, and were pleased to bring it to the homes of race fans across America.
