NASCAR: Speedway Children's Charities Helps Your Office Get Up to Speed
3 March 1999
HARRISBURG, N.C., - NASCAR teams aren't the only ones with gargantuan 18-wheelers to haul their race cars and equipment from one race to another.Speedway Children's Charities, along with business service center Your Office USA, have teamed-up to bring an 18-wheeler of their own to select NASCAR venues. However, instead of a race shop on wheels, The Speedway Children's Charities/Your Office USA transporter is a corporate office on wheels. Designed to allow sponsors and other corporate road warriors associated with NASCAR the opportunity to conduct business at the race track, the Speedway Children's Charities/Your Office USA transporter provides business people with a virtual mobile command center.
Complete with computer terminals, fax machines, phones, e-mail accessibility, a boardroom with video conferencing and more, the 53-foot transporter successfully comprises the elements of your typical office.
"Those who must conduct business in remote event situations as Speedway Children's Charities does, while bringing together diverse businesses with fund-raisers, will find this mobile office concept invaluable," said Andrew King, CEO of Your Office USA. "It sets the stage for the way executives will work in the next millennium - anywhere, anytime."
In addition to its business-related purposes, the transporter is also a fund- raising vehicle for Speedway Children's Charities.
On-Line Entertainment Network, Inc. (OEN) will produce a pay-per-listen netcast from the Speedway Children's Charities/Your Office USA transporter prior to events at Speedway Motorsports controlled facilities. The pre-race on-line netcast begins Saturday morning prior to Sunday's race at selected tracks, and it's available throughout the weekend.
By logging-on to www.oen.com and clicking on the Speedway Children's Charities logo, users can download interviews with drivers, current track conditions and race results. The $2 price tag to use the on-line service will go directly to philanthropic causes benefited by Speedway Children's Charities.
"We are excited by the opportunity to have offered input into the construction of the first-ever netcast command center," said Ted Mather, president of OEN. "It allows us to broadcast our worldwide pay-per-listen netcast for Speedway Children's Charities, but it also helps us to produce 24-track, all-digital recordings from the transporter for our aftermarket OEN 'audio-on-demand' audiences."
The Speedway Children's Charities/Your Office USA transporter will make it's debut Tues., March 2 at the International Motorsports Marketing Summit located at Caesar's Palace Resort & Casino in Las Vegas from 8-11:30 a.m. PST.
Following it's appearance at Caesar's, the rig will travel to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where it will be set-up in the infield just outside of the garage area beginning Wed., March 3. The Speedway Children's Charities/Your Office USA transporter will be on-hand throughout the Las Vegas 400 weekend for members of the NASCAR community to utilize.
