NASCAR WCUP: Buckshot Jones Ready for Vegas

Las Vegas is a city not short on luck and the Buckshot Racing team is hoping to play their cards right this weekend in the Las Vegas 400. Jones has had much success on flat tracks in the past and he is hoping that success continues this weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Jones claimed a pole at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1998 and has two career NASCAR Busch Series victories on two other flat tracks, The Milwaukee Mile and New Hampshire International Speedway in 1996 and 1998.

Jones feels the Buckshot Racing team still has an ACE up their sleeve for the Las Vegas 400. "This is not where we wanted to be at the start of the season, but we know that we have to take the good with the bad. We're a brand new team as far as the Winston Cup Series is concerned, so we're essentially starting all over again. This is a strong and knowledgeable team and we're hoping things will turn around for us here in Las Vegas," Jones said.

Jones took advantage of his weekend off and spent it enjoying one of his favorite hobbies. "My family has a farm in Monticello Ga., and I headed down there this weekend to take advantage of the nice weather and got some fishing in on our ponds. I caught about 15 bass and then enjoyed a cookout with my family. I look forward to doing that every chance I get," Jones said.

Jones will be appearing live on FastTalk with Benny Parsons with teammate Larry Pearson on Thursday, March 4, at 8:35 p.m. at the Orleans Casino.
