NHRA: Cromwell Named Director of NHRA National Event Marketing

GLENDORA, Calif. -- Glen Cromwell has been named director of national event marketing for the National Hot Rod Association, NHRA Vice President of Marketing Gary Darcy has announced.

Cromwell, 33, accepted the position following two years as a Division 7 (Pacific) Director in NHRAs national field office. Cromwell replaces Steve Velleman, who resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Prior to joining NHRA in 1997, Cromwell served in a variety of capacities with Lombard, Ill.-based PACE Motorsports, producer of AMA Supercross and Monster Truck events.

During six years at PACE, Cromwell worked in sales, event operations and marketing. His duties at PACE included event advertising and promotion, publicity, sponsorships, media buying and ticketing.

As NHRA Division 7 Director, Cromwell was responsible for managing all NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events conducted in his division, as well as performing a variety of other duties in the areas of competition, marketing and public relations.

I think my background working as an NHRA division director and previous experience in marketing functions for PACE Motorsports will enable me to contribute to the success of our events for sponsors, fans and track operators.

In his new position, Cromwell will be responsible for a variety of functions at NHRA national events, including developing national event marketing plans, supervising marketing services managers, managing hospitality services and overseeing the Top Eliminator Club.

Cromwell graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He lives in Tustin Ranch, Calif.
