SOUTHERN PRO TRUCK SERIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATTN: SPORTS EDITOR

Inverness, Fla. - The thunder will roll, the lightning will flash, and the
sound of two dozen roaring engines will fill the air this Saturday night
at Citrus County Speedway,.Inverness, Fla. as the fastest trucks in the
Southeast open their 1999 season on the fast quarter mile speedway. These
ain't your family pickups! These are the fire breathing, thundering Late
Model Super Trucks of the Southern Pro Truck Series and they are coming
your way at over 100 miles per hour!

The Southern Pro Truck Series will be led into Citrus County by 1998
Series Champion Butch Yoakam in his all-conquering Goodwin Brothers
Construction Ford F-150. Opening the season with a win in the Myakka
Brokers Blastoff 75 is the only goal of this five time winner but there
are a host of tough competitors waiting to knock him off his perch,
and maybe the track. Waiting for Yoakam at Citrus County will be none
other than local favorite and Late Model Champion Bruce Gaskins and his
Southern Performance Coatings Ford F-150. Gaskins, with experience on
the Florida Pro Series, would like nothing better than to score a win
in the first meeting between the two top guns in 10 years.

Topping the list of competitors who will be wheeling Chevrolets into
this weekend's battle will be 1998 Rookie of the Year and Sportsman of
the Year, Tommy Caveny in the Bradshaw Industrial Coatings Chevy. Other
top bow-tie pilots include Scott Bramlett and top ten points finisher
Hubert Simmons in the Simmons Construction Chevrolet. Mopar fans will
have plenty to cheer about as 1998 points runner-up, Mark Manfredi wheels
his Jim Boast Dodge sponsored Ram pickup to the front of the pack as he
tries to get a head start on the Championship race for 1999.

The Myakka Brokers Blastoff 75 is the first of 18 races for the Southern
Pro Truck Series this season and the on-track action will be fast and
furious. Fenders will bang, sparks will fly and motors will roar as the
highly competitive trucks blast around the speedway two and sometimes
three wide for 75 laps of non-stop action. Get there early, grab a good
seat, and then be prepared to stand for the entire race as the fastest
pickups in the South do battle this Saturday night at Citrus County
Speedway. It's going to be a BLAST!
