More Dates for 1999 SCCA World Challenge Road Racing Series

SPEEDVISION WORLD CHALLENGE ADDS SEVERAL VENUES
TO 1999 SCHEDULE

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.The Speedvision World Challenge 1999 schedule has been set
with the addition of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Road Atlanta,
Vancouver, and the season finale at Laguna Seca Raceway.
The series previously scheduled Road America date, July 9-11, has been
dropped, leaving the series with a 10-race slate.
The Speedvision World Challenge is poised to become the next major series
in North American road racing, said Mitch Wright, Speedvision World
Challenge General Manager. While its unfortunate we had to drop our Road
America date, our schedule as a whole is the strongest ever. The 10th year
of the Speedvision World Challenge promises the best racing, the most
factory competition and the best entertainment for the series growing
number of fans.
The Mid-Ohio date, June 4-6, is part of the BFGoodrich Tires Trans-Am
Series and USRRC Can-Am-headlined weekend and will be the final race of a
season-opening three in-a-row stretch that begins at Mosport Park, May
21-23, followed by the Dodge Dealers Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, May
27-31.
The Road Atlanta date, Round Four, will be a part of the BFGoodrich Tires
Trans-Am-headlined  weekend, July 23-25. The Vancouver event, Sept. 4-5,
immediately follows the West Michigan Grand Prix in Grand Rapids, Mich.
and
is part of the FedEx CART Championship Molson Indy Vancouver weekend.
The Speedvision World Challenge will wrap up its 10th season at Laguna
Seca
as part of the VISA Sports Car Championships weekend, October 8-10.
One double-race weekend for each class, World GT and Touring, will be
announced at a later date..
The Speedvision World Challenge is North Americas premier production-based
road racing series, featuring the worlds most exciting regular-production
sports and touring carshighly modified for race performancein a
fender-to-fender, sprint race format.
