Brazilian Racing News: Tony Kanaan
10 February 1999
Brazilian driver Tony Kanaan is very happy with the results of the spring Training in Homestead, where he finished 10th overall in both days, being the quickest brazilian in the last session on thursday. "The team is very good, but the most important thing is that I can now do a lot more testing than last year. I really expect to win races this season, and mainly, finish in the top 5 this season. I think the McDonald's Team will give me the right equipment, and I am sure we will be just a little bit under the top teams, Ganassi, Green and the Forsythe Team." When asked who will be the man to beat, the brazilian answered that there will be at least 8 drivers fighting for the championship, and he really hopes he is one of them, and outsider but with hopes to make a very good season. "The past is the past. Being Rookie of the year was a great trophy for me. But it is now at my home, and I have to fight for better results for the future." finished Kanaan.
