NASCAR Trucks: Tickets go on sale Monday for the NAPA 250 Craftsman Truck Race at Martinsville Speedway

Martinsville, VA---Unlike the post holiday television commercials, Martinsville Speedway has no diet plan available. But it can offer a way to lose your "wait" when it comes to the NAPA 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the track on Saturday, April 17.

Tickets for the event go on sale Monday, January 18 and fans can order in advance, thus averting standing in line for the Saturday show. Tickets for the race are $25 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12.

Martinsvilles 1998 race was one of the most exciting of the season with Ron Hornaday and local favorite Jimmy Hensley battling for the lead late in the race. During one of several bumping incidents between the two, Jay Sauter was able to pass them both to win.

The NAPA 250 is the companion event with the Goodys Headache Powder 500 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race on Sunday, April 18. The past four Martinsville Craftsman Truck races have been held in the fall but this year, the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series has moved to October 2 and the NAPA 250 will be in April.

NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series will make only two stops in Virginia in 1999 with Martinsville Speedway and Richmond International Raceway as hosts. The Richmond race is on Thursday, September 9 for the Virginia Is For Lovers 200.

The NAPA 250 is the fifth stop on the Craftsman Truck Series schedule. The first four races are at Homestead Motorsports Complex, Phoenix International Raceway, Evergreen Speedway and Mesa Marin Raceway.

Great seats still are available for the Goodys Headache Powder 500 on Sunday, April 18. There are seats available in all of the towers and concrete sections. Tower seats are $60 and tickets in the concrete bleacher sections are $40-$45.
