IRL, BUSINESS: Invincible Sportswear Named Official Clothier of Pep Boys Indy Racing League

INDIANAPOLIS - Invincible Sportswear, a Dallas-based company, has reached an agreement with the Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to become the official clothier of the Pep Boys Indy Racing League for the 1999 season, both parties announced today.Invincible will supply Indianapolis Motor Speedway personnel and Pep Boys Indy Racing League race teams with crew shirts, polo shirts, lightweight jackets, heavyweight jackets, sweatshirts, travel bags, belts and hats.
"We are very encouraged with Invincible's enthusiasm and commitment to the Pep Boys Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," said David Moroknek, Indianapolis Motor Speedway director of licensing & consumer products. "We're very excited about this relationship because Invincible's quality products will create a unique look for IMS personnel and the league's race teams."
This agreement increases Invincible's involvement with the Pep Boys Indy Racing League. The company worked with Indianapolis 500 champion Eddie Cheever Jr. and Pep Boys Indy Racing League standout Buzz Calkins in 1998.
Invincible has experienced tremendous growth since its inception in July 1997. The company has worked with many motorsports competitors and teams, including 1998 ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde series champion Frank Kimmel. Invincible also sponsors 1998 IFBB Mr. Olympia bodybuilding champion Ronnie Coleman.
"We are very involved in racing, and I saw that the Pep Boys Indy Racing League does have a tremendous potential to grow," Invincible President Eric Colton said. "It's a great league. The Pep Boys Indy Racing League allows talented drivers to come into a top racing series and at a lower cost, while striving to achieve their potential. That's synonymous with what Invincible stands for."
Invincible will launch its new racing line of products, "The Final Lap," shortly after the Pep Boys Indy Racing League season starts in 1999. Final Lap Racewear, the company's racing division, will feature racing uniforms, safety equipment and fan clothing and collectibles.
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League is the world's premier open-wheel, oval-track racing series. The 1999 season starts Jan. 24 with the TransWorld Diversified Services Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando, Fla.
