FORD IN THE FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The Stewart-Ford team will be unveiling the 1999 Stewart-Ford Formula One car, the SF3, at the Autosport International Show, on January 7th 1999 at the NEC in Birmingham.

The launch will be attended by Jackie and Paul Stewart, Stewart-Ford driver Rubens Barrichello and his new 1999 team mate Johnny Herbert.

FORD IN THE FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

On Thursday this week the Ford World Rally team will reveal its sponsorship partner for the 1999 FIA World Rally Championship. The announcement will be made at the Autosport Show in Birmingham when the new Ford Focus World Rally Car will be unveiled in its livery, by new driver Colin McRae.

Immediately after the unveiling of the new livery at the Autosport Show the Ford World Rally team move to the South of France for the last bout of testing before the Monte Carlo Rally. The test will be held over three days and will feature asphalt preparation.

''So far we have completed over 2000kms of testing in the new Ford Focus World Rally Car in preparation for the 1999 season, and we are very happy with the progress that we have been making. Over the three days in the South of France we will mainly be focusing on the car's set-up and specification and putting the final touches to the handling before the first rally of the season starts in Monte Carlo. The test will enable us to perfect the springs, dampers and differential settings to gain the best handling performance out the car on its debut rally.'' said Malcolm Wilson, Ford World Rally team Director.
