10 January 1999
Indianapolis,: While participating in a private equipment test at the Walt Disney World Speedway this week, Treadway Racing test driver Jason Leffler blazed an unofficial track time of 21 seconds flat-the fastest time the Orlando oval has seen since its inception in 1995.Leffler, a two-time 1998 National USAC Champion, believes that it is all in a day's work. "The '99 G-Force package was great," he stated. "The car was handling well and we were happy with the Comptech power. We were just pretty hooked up!" The Treadway team was running their '99 updated G-Force/Aurora/Firestone package in preparation for the upcoming IRL opener which will take place later this month.
A native of Long Beach, California, Leffler was contracted to test drive for the Treadway Racing team throughout the 1998 season in addition to competing in all events on the USAC National Midget series and the Silver Crown series as well. He has already logged over 2500 IRL miles so far this year.
