IRL: Treadway Racing Announces Driver/Sponsor for '99

Indianapolis: Treadway Racing announced today the continuation of their winning tradition as they re-signed sponsorship partner Sprint PCS for the 1999 racing season. In addition, the two partners released that the driver of the Sprint PCS/G-Force/Aurora/ Firestone Special will be up-and-coming IRL pilot, Sam Schmidt.Schmidt, who has two year's experience in the IRL including a second place finish at the 1998 season-ending event at Las Vegas, is excited to join the Treadway Team. "It is such a wonderful opportunity for me to join forces with such a great sponsor and Treadway Racing-both are proven leaders in the IRL. With this kind of partnership, I hope to continue the tradition and be a strong contender for the championship."
