IRL: Pennzoil Panther Racing Shares the Spirit of Christmas
31 December 1998
Indianapolis, IN-- The Pennzoil Panther Racing Team hosted 125 youth at their north side shop today to spread some Christmas spirit to those less fortunate. The young people, who are affiliated with the Harbaugh Hill Foundation and City Light Ministry, were treated to a Christmas dinner, gifts and autographs from IRL driver Scott Goodyear.
This is the 2nd year that the team has sponsored a Christmas party through the Harbaugh Hill Foundation. This is the highlight of the Christmas Season for these kids said Rick Hall, with City Light Ministry. The opportunity to see the race cars up close, meet the team and meet the driver is a rare experience.
Jim Harbaugh, Co-owner of Panther Racing and founder of Harbaugh Hill, introduced the team to Rick Hall and his inner-city programs. Even though Im not playing in Indianapolis any longer its still wonderful to be able to give back to the community and provide a bright spot for these kids said Harbaugh.
The kids spent the morning in the Panther Racing shop, getting an up close view of the race cars and enjoying a Christmas dinner. The event was capped off with a reading of The Story of Christmas and a gift exchange.
