Ed Swart Forms New West Coast Racing Assoc.

Ed Swart, longtime vintage racing participant in a variety of exotic
sports racing cars, has announced a tie-up with Florida based Historic
Sportscar Racing wherein the well regarded sanctioning body will start
up a west coast series of vintage races. The new entity will be known as
HSR-West and Swart has four prominent Southern California businessmen as
his partners.

The series has already set race dates for Willow Springs International
Raceway (where the VARA race group will not be racing in 1999), Las Vegas
Speedway Park, and will shortly announce new venues.

Swart hastens to point out that there is no conflict with any other
vintage race groups intended and that HSR-West, operating under the HSR
rules, will have classes for newer big bore race cars than some other
organizations and he will concentrate on staging a few premium, well-run
events that focus on quality.
