NASCAR: Buckshot Jones and Jina Cadena Exchange Wedding Vows

22 December 1998

Spartanburg, S.C. - On Saturday, December 19, 1998, among candles and Christmas trees, NASCAR Winston Cup driver Buckshot Jones and longtime girlfriend Jina Cadena married at the First Baptist Church of Duluth in Duluth, Ga. The newlyweds gathered at Sugarloaf Country Club following the ceremony with more than 500 family and friends to celebrate their marriage.

One year ago, Jones devised a plan with the help of his friend, country singer Tracy Byrd, to propose to Jina. He arranged to take a group of friends to Byrd's concert in Kennesaw, Ga., and got down on bended knee and popped the question to her on stage. Byrd serenaded the two with his song "Keeper of the Stars".

The couple has known one another since childhood and work together on Jones' family owned race team. Jina currently works in the Buckshot Racing office located in Atlanta and plans to score for Jones' Winston Cup team in 1999. They will live in Spartanburg, S.C., where the Buckshot Racing Busch and Winston Cup Series shops are located.
