Cars N' Stars: Honda Sales, Barnes Marketing, Petersen Auto Museum's Trans-Am Fete

Once again American Honda November sales were up. 73,404 vehicles sold accounted for a 4.6% increase with three models (Acura 3.2 TL, Honda Odyssey and CRV) setting new records. Even the NSX super car recorded a 21% increase--23 of these two-seaters were sold in November, '98 vs 19 units for November, '97.
The 25-year old Barnes-Dyer Motorsports Marketing company of Irvine, California is getting a new name and will now be known as Barnes-Curci Marketing, Inc. BCM represents some of the most visible names in motorsports: Al Unser, Sr; Scott Pruett; Team Mears; P.J. Jones; Bobby Unser; and Greg Moore.
The world famous Robert Petersen Automotive Museum in Beverly Hills, California will honor the stars of Trans-Am on January 30. The reception ($45.00) includes dinner and a no host bar. Last week the Speedway Restaurant and Bistro, Newport Beach, California opened their number 2 site in the Irvine Spectrum, Irvine, CA. On hand for the VIP bash were Dan Gurney, Kenny Bernstein, George Follmer and philanthropist, Dick Marconi the vitamin king of California and former vintage hot shoe in a Formula 5000 race car. The highlight of the ribbon cutting festivities was a blast around the Spectrum parking lot by 18 race cars including Rod Millen in his Toyota/Pennzoil Pikes Peak winning pickup.
