Steel Horse Automotive Brings 34 New Products to AAIW 1998
5 November 1998
Steel Horse Automotive is at this year's SEMA show with 34 new products, including consoles built for entertainment centers and office work, and a toolbox that gets attached to the tailgate of a truck. We asked Steel Horse's Executive VP Michael James if it was common for his company to come to this trade show with so many new products and he responded by telling us that last year the company featured 50 new products!
Steel Horse offers specialty consoles for both your business car
and the vehicle you drive for fun. For the Buick Sedan you can get the
Mobile Office Console that turns the space beside you in the front
seat into an office with storage space for files folders and papers, a
writing table, spaces for pens and supplies, and a cofee cup
holder. The Mobile Office Console buckles securely into the front
passenger seat using the seat belt. The unit will retail for about
$129.99.
Install a custom designed entertainment console into your Jeep
Grand Cherokee, and you'll get a couple additional cup holders, and a TV and
VCR to keep the kids quiet on long trips. The company makes the
entertainment consoles for all the most popular SUVs (they offer 4 custom
design models and an overhead model), plus they offer a universal
'one size fits all' unit for all kinds of minivans. The retail prices on the
Entertainment consoles varies depending on the unit you buy, but the
range is from $800 to about $1,100.
For the work truck, Steel Horse makes a locking tool box that
attaches to the tail gate, putting your tools right where you need
them when you're at work: at the back of your truck. Steel Horse emphasize
versatility, so the Tail Box comes with an inserts for camping and hunting as well as tools. The hunting insert converts the Tail Box into a locking gun rack,
and the camping insert makes room for camping stoves and other camping
necessities. The Tail Box has an eight inch profile, and comes in plastic and aluminum models.
