NHRA: JEG, Jr. To Have Honorary Crew Member At Keystones

10 September 1998

JEG'S Mail Order Racing will have a honorary crew member as part of their team at the 14th Annual Pioneer Keystone Nationals in Reading, PA. Matt Grosso of Honey Brook, PA will join the team as a honorary crew member in recognition of his tribute to Jeg Coughlin, Jr's historic 1997' season. Jeg Coughlin, Jr. was the first driver in NHRA history to win national events in four separate competition classes (Super Gas, Super Stock, Competition, and Pro Stock) in a single season. Matt's drawing that was in National Dragster's Annual Drawing/Photo Contest encompassed a Jeg, Jr's helmet in the center and all four of the winning cars surrounding the helmet.

"I was very touched when I saw the drawing that Matt did in National Dragster. I wanted to find a way to show my gratitude and give Matt a closer look at the sport that has been so good to me. Matt is a junior dragster racer and his his sights set on moving up in the world of NHRA Drag Racing. He very interested in the sport and will make a great addition to any NHRA competition class. Having a strong background in art, he has painted and designed paint scemes for race cars, trailers, and helmets. This young man will be one that we will all see long into the future," said Jeg, Jr.
