NASCAR-BGN: Slim Jim and Team 34 Not to Renew for 1999

Raleigh, NC - Slim Jim Meat Snacks has decided not to renew its sponsorship agreement with Team 34 Racing for 1999.

Our decision is not related to expected team performance for the rest of the year as we feel that the Slim Jim team and driver Todd Bodine will be very competitive. The important issue for us is strong on track performance combined with long term driver continuity, said George Stewart, Senior Marketing Manager for Slim Jim. We are in the final stages of concluding our future Busch Series plans and will have an announcement in the very near future.

We want to thank Slim Jim for supporting us this year and wish them well with their future racing endeavors, said Frank Cicci, co-owner of Team 34 Racing. Our #30 team will continue to compete in the Busch Series and is available for sponsorship. We intend to see Todd Bodine and the Slim Jim car running at the front and will be giving one hundred percent effort to put the car in the winners circle.
