F2000: Besnard, LeMond in Minneapolis "Sprint PCS G.P." Spotlight

United States Formula 2000 Championship Series point leader David Besnard of Sydney, Australia is seeking his sixth 1998 series triumph in this weekend's "Sprint PCS Grand Prix of Minnesota" in the streets of downtown Minneapolis. He leads Ryan Hampton by 52 points in the new series standings.

Practice on the 1.6-mile course is slated Saturday from 1:30-2:10 p.m. Qualifying is set for 10:10-10:40 a.m. Sunday with the 30-lap race beginning at 5:15 p.m.

Among favorites will be Medina, Minn.'s Greg LeMond, the three-time "Tour de France" cycling champion who scored his second podium finish of the season June 14 at Lexington, Ohio.
