Dunlop World Superbike Championship; It's the Only Time in the USA

IT'S THE ONLY TIME IN THE USA

WHAT: Dunlop World Superbike Championship. Featured are the only North
American races for the 1998 SBK Superbike World Championship. This is the
one time when the best Superbike racers from the USA and the rest of the
world will compete wheel-to-wheel anywhere this year.

WHO: Top professional Superbike motorcycle racers from Asia, Europe and
the
USA

WHEN: July 10, 11, 12

WHERE: Laguna Seca Raceway, near Monterey, California

WHY: To benefit Monterey Peninsula and Central California youth and civic
projects


SUNDAY, JULY 12:

Two SBK Superbike World Championship races:  Rounds 15 and 16 of this
prestigious international series which, for the only time this year, will
also include top riders from the AMA U.S. National Superbike Championship
series.

Supersport World Series race:  North American debut of this leading
international series for riders on high-powered production sportbikes.

125 Grand Prix race - Young, upcoming riders compete on race bikes with
125cc engines like those raced for the 125 GP World Championship.

Extreme Air competition:   motorcycle riders rocket off a ramp and perform
acrobatic routines likes those performed by Olympic snow-boarders and
extreme BMX cyclists.

Gary Rothwell performs more awesome stunts on a motorcycle.

SATURDAY, JULY 11:

Superpole qualifying:   racers get a single lap alone on the track to gain
the pole for Sunday's first Superbike World Championship race.

Honda Oils SuperSport Championship race:  Round 9 of this leading U.S.
series for riders on sportbikes with 600cc and 750cc engines.

Extreme Air demonstration:  a show of the skills needed by Extreme Air
competitors.

Gary Rothwell performs awesome stunts on a motorcycle.

Laguna Seca Raceway is operated by the Sports Car Racing Association of
the
Monterey Peninsula, a 501(c)(4) tax exempt organization.
