Notes of Interest: The "American General Finance 200" is race No. 20 of the 21 race NASCAR Goody's Dash Series schedule and marks the Series' first visit to the beautiful and extremely fast Concord Motorsports Park since August 4, 1990. Mickey York appears to be the currently active Series competitor with the best feel for the big half mile. The Asheboro, NC native has scored a pole and a win here in a NASCAR Goody's Dash Series car in the Series' two previous visits to this Speedway. York's win here came in the last race in 1990 and his pole was established one year prior, in 1989. Gary Wade Finley won the race here in 1989 on his way to the National Championship that year. David Probst sat on the pole for this race in 1990. Going into this event, Series point leader Mike Swaim Jr, carries a 179-point advantage over second place, Brian Sockwell in the race for the National Championship. Close behind Sockwell, and looking for any opportunity to move up a notch or two in the standings, are the father and son racing team of Will and Jake Hobgood in third and fourth, and Robert Huffman is still a genuine threat, lurking just 20 points behind the younger Hobgood in fifth. In the race for the Rookie of the Year honors, Charles Powell III continues his strangle hold on the lead over Ricky Bryant, "Doc" Brewer and Robert Luckadoo. Mufflers will be required at this track. TV: Tape Delay on Time Warner Cable Access Metro 12 in the Charlotte Metro, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Stanly County areas. First airing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 8:30 pm.
