AMA Grand National Dirt Track Series Beer Nuts Challenge Rescheduled

R97111 September 15, 1997 For Immediate Release SYRACUSE BEER NUTS CHALLENGE RESCHEDULED FOR LAS VEGAS WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Due to a Sept. 7 rainout of the AMA Grand National Dirt Track Series race at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, N.Y., the Beer Nuts Brand Snacks Challenge has been rescheduled to run at the Oct. 4 Grand National Dirt Track Series half-mile race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Beer Nuts Challenges are six-rider, five-lap dashes with a $2,000 purse. Each rider in the Beer Nuts Challenge is eligible for a cash award, with first place paying $1,000; second place, $300; third place, $250; fourth place, $200; fifth place, $150; and sixth place paying $100. Previous Beer Nuts Challenge events were held at Rapid City, S.D. (Aug. 6) and Springfield, Ill. (Aug. 31). Upcoming Beer Nuts Challenge races will be held at Sacramento, Calif. (Sept. 27); Del Mar, Calif. (Oct. 12); and the Oct. 4 season finale in Las Vegas. In addition to those on-track activities, Beer Nuts Brand Snacks have taken an AMA race-themed promotion to over 20,000 retail outlets and are offering a Harley-Davidson Sportster as the grand prize in a national sweepstakes program. Other prizes include Arai helmets and Hatch gloves. Beer Nuts Brand Snacks are also sponsoring promotional appearances by Grand National Series teams at Beer Nuts retailers in each market.
