Who's that with the Pope?

Steve Earle, impressario of the fabulously successful Monterey Historic vintage racing weekend, adressed 150 members of the automotive press at their Motor Press Guild luncheon a few years ago. He described the beauty and popularity of the Laguna Seca road racing track. "In fact" said Steve, "the place is so big and accessible the Pope, John Paul on his visit to SanFrancisco is coming to Laguna Seca Raceway."

One salty racing writer put up his hand and said..."what's he driving?"
