Guerrero Takes Sixth in Pennzoil 200

Pennzoil Pagan driver Roberto Guerrero turned in his best finish of
1997 Sunday in the Pennzoil 200 at New Hampshire International
Speedway.

Guerrero, who started 10th, battled with his car's set-up and a
changing race track to finish sixth. It is Guerrero's best finish
since the Indy Racing League (IRL) switched to new cars and engines
for 1997, and matches the veteran driver's sixth place posting here a
year ago.

"That was a long, long day," Guerrero said. "We just hung in there
and drove it as fast as it would go. We just never quite got the
Pennzoil car comfortable all day. It was really loose at one end, and
so tight at the other. But we brought it home in the top 10. We'll
just have to go get them at Vegas."

Las Vegas Motor Speedway wraps up the 10-race IRL season under the
lights on October 11.

In NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action over the weekend, Pennzoil
Dodge driver Tony Raines survived a freak mid-race incident to finish
11th in the Federated Auto Parts 250 at Nashville Speedway.

Raines started 24th, and moved to 11th by the half-time break.
But, after returning to the lineup for the second half re-start,
Raines came together with Bryan Reffner on the front straightaway
under caution. The contact was severe enough to retire Reffner and
destroy the front body-work on the Pennzoil Dodge. Once the Roehrig
Motorsports crew removed the damaged pieces, Raines returned to the
track. He ended the event one lap down in 11th position.

Next up the for the series is the Parts America 150 on the road
course at Watkins Glen. The race begins at 2 p.m. and airs live on
ESPN.
