International Speedway Corp Enters Negotiations with Kansas City, Kan

KANSAS CITY, KS - August 6, 1997 - International Speedway Corporation
announced today it has entered into a 60-day exclusive negotiating
period with the City of Kansas City, Kan. for the purposes of
developing a multi-million dollar motorsports facility in the city.

ISC's long-term objective had been to identify a Midwestern partner in
which the company would enter into this 60-day exclusive negotiating
period. For the next 60 days ISC will work with city and state
representatives for the development of an agreement under the terms
set forth in a proposal made by Kansas City, Kan. representatives to
ISC on July 31 at ISC headquarters in Daytona Beach, Fla.
