When Elliott Sadler and the Phillips 66 Performance Team head to
Nazareth, Pa., for the CoreStates Advantage 200, they know to expect a
challenging weekend. Sadler has just one start at Nazareth Speedway,
which unfortunately ended just 55 laps into the event. Knowing that
seat time is important at any new track, Sadler wanted to complete as
many of the 200 laps as possible. He was able to gain valuable seat
time when he filled in as a relief driver and finished the race in
another car.
"Nazareth is one of the toughest tracks we run all year," Sadler said
of the tight, one-mile oval. "But it is also a fun race track that is
pretty demanding. There are more turns than straights so you have to
really pay attention. This is one track that will wear you down both
mentally and physically."
Although Sadler was unable to finish the race, he tackled the track's
tricky layout head-on and had a very good qualifying performance for
his first weekend at the track. Driving his own equipment, Sadler
started his Monte Carlo fourth last year behind veterans David Green,
Randy Lajoie and Mike McLaughlin.
