Ampro Announces New No-Installation Theft Prevention Device

13 January 1997

New No-Installation Device Stops Car and Stereo Theft

Ampro Electronics Inc. Announces The Trap

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 12 -- The following release was today issued
by Ampro Electronics Inc.:

As every consumer knows, most people ignore car alarms. Steering wheel
locks and immobilizers do not protect the contents INSIDE the car. And
thieves are not deterred by either. There was really no solution. Until now.
Ampro Electronics, Inc. of Santa Monica, CA has the solution: The
patented TRAP(TM) is the only protection that works. Instead of calling for
help and attention, which is not coming anymore, THE TRAP(TM) makes any stay
INSIDE the car impossible to the would-be thief and will render the stereo
worthless to the thief if forcibly removed. It's a visible deterrent that
protects both your car AND your stereo. Who will step into a visible trap to
steal a stereo which cannot be sold?
Just turn the key and THE TRAP safely DEADBOLTS into the slot of your
existing cassette player. It will emit a 130 dB unique sound blast INSIDE
your car on any attempt to steal your car, airbag, stereo or car phone. It is
so loud and painful it makes any stay INSIDE the car intolerable. Any attempt
to forcibly remove THE TRAP will render the stereo worthless to thieves. Two
warning window stickers to that effect are supplied. THE TRAP requires NO
INSTALLATION, is affordable, portable, simple to use, and easy to move from
car to car. It will not be in your way when you enter or exit your car and it
can be kept in the glove compartment when not in use.
Who really wants to carry the car stereo or its detachable face wherever
he goes? By making THE TRAP highly visible from the outside of the car (it
can easily be seen sticking out of the cassette player with the two flashing
LED's) and making the target worthless to the would-be thief, the incentive
for breaking into any car protected by THE TRAP is removed.
THE TRAP's primary goal is to protect the car. The secondary goal is to
protect the stereo. And as seeing is believing -- the third goal is to act as
a visible deterrent.
THE TRAP is priced under $50.00. It is substantially less expensive than
most other anti-theft systems which the consumer knows have not solved the
problem.
