Ford Moves Brazilian Headquarters to Sao Bernardo do Campo
12/27/96
South American Business News reports that Ford in Brazil will make management changes in a bid to increase its 1997 Brazilian market share. The company will move its management facilities to Sao Bernardo do Campo (Sao Paulo), where 1 of its plants is located. The facilities will occupy 8 floors of a commercial building.
The company predicts losses for 1996, and plans to focus on the motor vehicles market. It will consider selling its stake in other areas like primary iron & steel. It will also suspend its sponsorship of the Formula Ford car race, which costs it $1 million each year, although it may reintroduce the race in the future.
