Gentex Announces Mirror Deal with Mitsubishi

12/23/96

1997 Mitsubishi Diamante Model to Offer Gentex Interior
Automatic-Dimming Mirror

ZEELAND, Mich., Dec. 19 -- Gentex Corporation, the
Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming mirrors and
fire protection products, today announced that it recently began
shipping its automatic- dimming interior mirror for the new 1997
Mitsubishi Diamante. The Australian-built Diamante is the first
Mitsubishi vehicle model to offer Gentex's automatic-dimming rearview
mirror.

The Night Vision Safety(TM) (NVS(R)) Mirror is standard equipment on
all upper grade Mitsubishi Diamante vehicles imported to North
America. NVS Mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the
headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the
glare, the darker the mirrors become.

"Considering Mitsubishi's global presence, we are pleased to add this
fine company to our list of customers around the world," said Gentex
Executive Vice President, Kenneth La Grand. "The addition of the
Mitsubishi nameplate makes a significant contribution to our growing
presence in Japan." With the addition of the Diamante, Gentex NVS
Mirrors are now offered on more than one hundred 1997 vehicle models.
