Harley-Davidson Elects New Director


Bleustein Elected Director Of Harley-Davidson, Inc.

    MILWAUKEE, Wis., Dec. 16 -- Harley-Davidson,
Inc. announced today that Jeffrey L. Bleustein, president
and chief operating officer, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, was
elected to its Board of Directors at a Board meeting held on December
13.  Harley-Davidson, Inc. now has 10 members on its Board of
Directors.

    "We're quite pleased that all Harley-Davidson stakeholders will
benefit from the considerable knowledge and 22 years of leadership
experience in our motorcycle operations that Jeff brings to our
Board," Richard F. Teerlink, chairman and chief executive officer,
Harley-Davidson, Inc., said.  "The election of an inside executive to
our Board signifies that we are focused very intently on continuing to
maximize the potential of our employees and to convert opportunities
into long-term growth in our core business, motorcycles."

    Bleustein, 57, was named president and chief operating officer of
Harley- Davidson Motor Company in 1993.  Prior to that, he served the
company in several leadership capacities, including executive vice
president of the Motor Company, vice president of its Parts and
Accessories business and vice president of engineering.  He holds a
bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University,
as well as MS and PhD degrees in engineering mechanics from Columbia
University.  He taught engineering and applied sciences at Yale
University before joining AMF, Incorporated, Harley- Davidson's
then-parent company, in 1971.  He is one of 13 executives who
participated in Harley-Davidson's leveraged buyout from AMF in 1981.

    Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the only major American-based
motorcycle manufacturer, produces heavyweight motorcycles and a
complete line of motorcycle parts and accessories.  Its Eaglemark
Financial Services subsidiary provides wholesale and retail financing,
insurance and credit card programs to Harley-Davidson dealers and
customers and similar programs for other leisure products
manufacturers.
