Chrysler International Announces November Sales

12/09/96

Chrysler International Records Strong November Sales

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 5 -- With one month in the year
to go, Chrysler International has passed the 200,000 unit sales mark,
with year- to-date numbers up 19 percent over the same period last
year. Chrysler sold a total of 19,056 units in November, up 21
percent from the same month in 1995.

"In November, right-hand drive vehicles accounted for 20 percent of
total sales, indicating that our strategy of carefully tailoring
Chrysler products to meet the needs of consumers in international
markets is resulting in substantial sales gains," said Thomas C. Gale,
Executive Vice President, International Operations and Product
Design. "In addition, the Latin America and Middle East/Africa regions
continue to show dramatic growth due to this year's launch of Neon
production in Venezuela, the sales launch in Brazil as well as the
continued strength of our export sales to Kuwait and other Middle
Eastern markets."

Europe posted solid overall sales gains up 21 percent for the year,
with Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom as top
performers. Australia and Thailand recorded the largest sales
increases in the Asia/Pacific region for November, up 155 and 126
percent, respectively compared to November 1995. Latin America and
Middle East/Africa continue to show the largest percentage increases
regionally, up 78 and 108 percent respectively, over November 1995.

Calendar year to date sales of Chrysler Voyager and Jeep(R) Grand
Cherokee vehicles are up 22 and 89 percent, from year ago figures. In
addition, Chrysler Stratus is showing strong consumer acceptance
overseas, recording a 69 percent sales increase through November of
this year versus the same period in 1995.

Since 1991, Chrysler International has enjoyed double-digit sales
growth and currently offers vehicles in over 140 markets.
