Dura Automotive Systems Announces Completion of Automotive Group Takeover

Dura Automotive Systems, Inc. Completes Acquisition of KPI Automotive
Group

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 5 -- Dura Automotive Systems,
Inc. , today announced that it has completed the
previously announced acquisition of the KPI Automotive Group from
Sparton Corporation .

KPI's operations are headquartered in Grand Haven, Mich., and consist
of technical and manufacturing facilities in Indiana and Michigan with
approximately $95 million in annual sales. Major products include
shifter systems, parking brake mechanisms, brake pedals, underbody
spare tire carriers and airbag components sold to Ford, Chrysler,
General Motors and a number of Tier 1 suppliers.

Dura Automotive is a leading designer and manufacturer of control
mechanisms and cable-related systems for the global automotive
industry. The company's products include parking brake systems,
automotive cables, latches, transmission shifter systems, and other
mechanical assemblies. The company's products are sold to major North
American original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Ford,
General Motors and Chrysler, as well as foreign OEMs, such as
Toyota. The company also serves OEM's in France and Brazil through its
manufacturing operations in those countries. Dura's operating
headquarters is in Rochester Hills, Mich. and its corporate office is
in Minneapolis, Minn.
