American Honda Announces November Sales

Accord Sales Surge 41.4 Percent In November; American Honda Sales Up
15.9 Percent
TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 3 -- Boosted by the introduction
of the all-new Honda Prelude and the strong-selling Honda Accord,
total American Honda sales jumped to 70,534 for November, up 13.9
percent compared to year- ago levels, according to sales figures
released today.
Honda Division November sales of 61,305 are up 13.7 percent over last
year. Accord sales of 32,719 increased 41.4 percent, while the
all-new redesigned Prelude, released last month, increased 24.2
percent over year-ago levels. Honda Division recorded total
year-to-date sales of 678,329, up 6.4 percent.
"Consumers recognize the value of our Honda Accord," said Dick
Colliver, Honda Division senior vice president of sales. "As consumer
confidence levels rise, they'll expect more value from their spending
dollars -that's where the Accord really holds its own."
Acura Division recorded its best November in five years with sales
totaling 9,229 units, up 32.5 percent compared to a year ago. Sales of
the TL series were tip 19.4 percent for the month and the 3.5RL luxury
sedan enjoyed its second best month since introduction. Year-to-date
Acura sales of 99,544 are up 10.5 percent from last year.
