Western Star Trucks Makes Bus Deal with Lockheed Martin

Reuters reports that Western Star Trucks Holdings Ltd announced last week that its wholly owned Orion Bus Industries Inc unit reached an agreement with Lockheed Martin Corporation to design and produce hybrid electric buses for major customers like New York City. The deal provides that Lockheed Martin will supply drive systems for Orion's low floor buses. Western Star said a prototype bus would be completed in the second quarter of 1997. No financial details were released.
