Chrysler Announces 1997 Prices for Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Viper

Prices Set for 1997 Jeep(R) Cherokee, Dodge Viper Gts

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Nov. 27 via Individual Inc. --
Chrysler Corporation today announced suggested retail prices
for 1997 Jeep(R) Cherokee models and for the 1997 Viper GTS Coupe.

Including destination charges, suggested Cherokee base prices range
from $15,825 for the two-door, two-wheel-drive Cherokee SE to $23,945
for the four- door, four-wheel-drive Cherokee Country.

Jeep(R) Cherokee, which started the four-door compact sport-utility
vehicle market segment in 1984, retains its classic look for 1997 but
incorporates more than 40 improvements over the 1996 model.

The suggested price for the base 1997 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe, in
monochromatic Viper Red, is $66,700 including destination charge,
unchanged from 1996. The car also will be available in its
introductory color scheme, Viper Blue with white stripes -- now an
option priced at $1,200. The polished aluminum alloy wheels that were
featured on the introductory 1996 Viper GTS Coupe are a $300 option
for 1997.
