Infiniti Announces 1997.5 J30 Personal Luxury Sedan Pricing CARSON, Calif., Nov. 18 -- Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A., today announced the release of its 1997.5 J30 personal luxury sedan available now at Infiniti retailers nationwide. In keeping with its recently announced "consumer-based pricing" philosophy, the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the new model is $33,500, a reduction of $2,250 from the previous model. "Last June, we lowered the MSRPs on a number of our Infiniti luxury vehicles in order to bring them in closer alignment with what consumers are likely to pay," said Tom Eastwood, vice president, Infiniti Division. "As we've already seen, this reduces consumer anxiety over the price negotiation process and makes the Infiniti buying experience even more pleasurable." Revisions to the popular J30 sedan for the 1997.5 model year include an improved 6-speaker, 200-watt Bose(R) audio system. The new system includes dual FM bands that provide 12 FM preset stations, as well as a new volume control knob and larger buttons for greater convenience. Also changed for the 1997.5 model is a new Pewter exterior color, which replaces the previous Beige Pebble. The MSRP of remaining 1997 J30 models in retailer inventory will be reduced to match that of the new model. The 1997.5 J30 remains one of the most innovative and eye-catching designs on the road. Conceptualized at Nissan Design International in La Jolla, California, J30 provides coupe-like styling with the practicality of a four- door sedan. Every J30 is powered by an advanced DOHC 24-valve 3.0-liter engine, mated to a standard, sophisticated four-speed automatic transmission. The 1997.5 J30's interior comes completely equipped with luxury amenities ranging from leather-appointed seats to automatic temperature control and standard power sunroof. Like all Infiniti models, the J30 is equipped with dual air bags. For those who prefer an extra touch of sportiness, the J30t adds forged aluminum-alloy wheels, recalibrated springs and stabilizer bars, a rear deck lid spoiler and special J30t badging. The 1997.5 J30t has a MSRP of $35,500. Beginning with the relaxed, pleasurable atmosphere found at a network of more than 145 Infiniti retailers and extending to Infiniti's industry-leading warranty and ownership programs, the Total Ownership Experience(R) includes a new 30-day price assurance policy, free 48-month, 24-hour roadside assistance program, a free Infiniti loan vehicle with scheduled service/warranty appointments and expedited parts via a satellite parts network.
