Lear Reports Impact of GM Strike Resolution

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 12 -- Lear Corporation
today reported that its 1996 fourth quarter earnings per share
will be affected due to recent CAW and UAW work stoppages at General
Motors Corporation (GM) production facilities.
    Based upon preliminary estimates, earnings per share for the
quarter ending December 31, 1996, will be adversely affected by
approximately $.10 per share.
