Audi's October Sales in U.S. Best in a Decade


AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 5 -- Audi of America,
Inc. reported U.S. sales of 2,170 for the month of October 1996,
representing a 15.8 percent increase over the same month last year
when sales were 1,874. It was the best October recorded by Audi in the
U.S. since 1986.

Audi has demonstrated this kind of year-over-previous-year sales
increase for 22 of the last 23 months.

For the year, Audi is up 53.6 percent over 1995. Year-to-date, the
German luxury carmaker has sold 21,901 new cars compared to 1995's
mark of 14,258. Audi continues to be the fastest-growing luxury
passenger car franchise in the U.S.
