BMW of North America Announces October Sales

BMW Continues To Set Sales Records; Reports All-Time Record For October
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Nov. 4 -- BMW of North America,
Inc. continues to set monthly sales records, reporting 9,944 vehicles
for the month of October, 1996. Year-to-date sales, also significantly
higher than for any other ten-month period, were 90,093 vehicles.
Stronger sales of all model lines contributed to BMW's extraordinary
performance this month, including:
-- continued strong sales due to increased availability of the all-new
5 Series models;
-- continued excitement and showroom traffic generated by the new Z3
roadster;
-- high demand for the 7 Series models in the prestige segment of the
luxury car market.
The monthly sales figure represents an increase of 30 percent over
7,651 vehicles sold last year while the year-to-date boost is 14.5
percent higher than recorded sales of 78,672 in 1995.
In the United States, BMW of North America, Inc. and Land Rover North
America, Inc. are members of the BMW Group. The consolidated U.S.
sales for October are 11,821 (BMW 9,944 and Land Rover 1,877) and
consolidated year-to- date sales are 120,514 (BMW 90,093 and Land
Rover 18,600).
