Orders for Nissan's Stadia Wagon in Japan Surpass Goals
10/28/96
Comline reports that more than 10,137 orders had been placed for Nissan's Stadia Wagon by the end of its third week on the market, doubling what Nissan had projected as a first month sales goal for the vehicle. Nissan introduced the vehicle on October 3, and set a sales goal of 5,000 for the first month. The Stadia is a high-end wagon based on Nissan's Laurel and Skyline Models. 60% of the 10,137 orders that have been placed for the vehicle request the four wheel drive model. In order to keep up with the high demand for the Stadia, Nissan has told workers at the Murayama plant where the Stadia is made that they will have to work over a three day holiday in November.
