Buick Announces Contribution to Female Executives Association Program

Buick Contributes to Esteem Team Program of National Association for
Female Executives

FLINT, Mich., Oct. 22 -- Buick Motor Division is
partnering with NAFE, an organization which promotes women's success
and career development in the workplace, to support the "Esteem Team"
program, administered by the Women's Foundation of the National
Association of Female Executives (NAFE), in its role of developing
young women as future business leaders. Buick will be a major
contributor to the "Esteem Team" program over the next several years,
Margaret G. Holmes, Buick director of communications, has announced.

The Esteem Team program is a unique mentoring initiative, in which one
at-risk girl is paired with a female executive over a six-year
period. Together they are part of a team of five professional women
and five girls. Besides providing each girl with her own confidante
and role model, this arrangement creates a powerful network to help
champion her dreams. The girls are encouraged to develop friendships
with other team members to help incorporate the team experience into
their daily lives, as well as to build their self-esteem.

Through this exclusive partnership with NAFE, Buick will make a
contribution to the program for every Buick purchased during
designated promotional programs through 1998. In return, Buick has
been named Official Car of the NAFE Women's Foundation.

"Buick and NAFE are a perfect fit," said Holmes. "The demographics of
NAFE members are a very close match to those of Buick customers,
making this relationship a natural. But above and beyond the obvious
marketing benefits, Buick recognizes a growing market for women in the
automotive industry and feels strongly about the advancement of women
in today's society. This partnership with NAFE allows Buick to
contribute to this extraordinary cause."

The partnership will be formally announced October 23 at the 1996
NAFFY Awards luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York
City. Holmes will be a guest speaker at the luncheon. The NAFFY Awards
honor individuals or groups who have worked to make the world a better
place for youth to grow up in.

NAFE members will have the opportunity to attend exclusive Buick
events that focus on issues of particular concern for women in the
vehicle purchasing market. Events will be held in major markets and
are currently planned in conjunction with the four major North
American auto shows -- Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

NAFE is the largest businesswomen's organization in the United
States. Founded in 1972, NAFE provides resources and services --
through education, networking and public advocacy -- to empower its
members to achieve career success and financial security. With member
benefits including the award-winning publication Executive Female,
insurance and financial planning programs, career development events
and many corporate and travel discounts, NAFE members have the tools
necessary to be successful in the workplace. NAFE has more than
200,000 members and 200 local chapters across the United States.
