September Car Sales Rise 1.7% Tying Model Year Gain

Model year closeout incentives helped light vehicle sales improve 1.7% in September, compared to a year ago. Truck sales were up 8.1% but car sales were off. Ford, however, reported Taurus sales were going through the roof, up 47 percent. The sales pie breaks down as:
