Nissan Develops No-Hands Phone for Drivers

Kyodo has reported that Nissan Motor Co. announced that it developed a phone for drivers that will let them carry on a conversation while keeping both hands on the steering wheel. The uses a speaker and a microphone linked to a mobile phone set. It allows drivers to place and receive calls with the push of a button, Nissan said.
Nissan will begin marketing the phones by the end of the year. Telecommunications companies, including a group affiliated with Nissan, will market mobile phones compatible with the system this Fall.
