Nikkei English News has reported that Suzuki Motor Corporation announced on Wednesday that it has developed an electric car that costs 10-20% less to produce and is more energy-efficient and roomy than conventional models. The new electric car is a redesigned version of the company's Alto minicar, and incorporates small high-performance lead-acid batteries and a smaller-than-average motor. Suzuki says the new Alto cuts energy costs by 40% and comfortably seats four adults.
