BMW Announces September Sales

BMW Continues Record-Breaking Pace With Best September Sales
in its History
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Oct. 2 -- BMW of North America,
Inc. continued its record-breaking pace, reporting an all-time record
for the month of September at 9,330 sales, bringing the total for the
first nine months of 1996 to a record of 80,149.
The sales performance represents an increase of 20 percent over the
7,775 sales recorded in September, 1995 and a year-to-date increase of
12.8 percent over the 1995 total of 71,021, the previous January to
September record.
In the United States, BMW of North America, Inc. and Land Rover North
America, Inc. are members of the BMW Group. The consolidated US sales
for September are 11,532 (BMW 9,330; Land Rover 2,202) with
year-to-date sales at 96,872 (BMW 80,149; Land Rover 16,723).
