Acura Announces Prices on its U.S.-Made V-6 Powered 3.OCL
Luxury Sports Coupe

TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 2 -- Acura today announced pricing
on its first-ever U.S.-made V-6 model, the 1997 Acura 3.OCL luxury
sports Coupe, that is now on sale at the approximately 270 Acura
dealerships nationwide.

The 3.OCL and its companion model, the four-cylinder, 2.2CL that went
on sale in mid-March, are the first automobiles to be completely
designed, engineered, and manufactured in the United States by a
luxury import nameplate.

Manufacturers' suggested retail price on the new 3.OCL luxury sports
coupe is $25,110 while the 1997 3.OCL with Premium Package is
$26,460. The popular 2.2CL begins at $22,110.

The 3.OCL has a tough act to follow as the 2.2CL has been nothing
short of a runaway success for the past six months.

"We've been selling 2.2CL's as fast as we can make them -- well over
10,000 units so far," said Rich Thomas, Acura's executive vice
president and general manager. "But a lot of people have also been
holding out for the 3.0CL. So it looks like it's going to be a strong
fall sales season.

"The CL is not only a great car, but one of the best values
anywhere. One would expect any comparably equipped luxury sports coupe
that performs this well to carry a price tag at least $10,000 higher."

The luxury-oriented 3.OCL is powered by an all-new, ultra-compact,
200- horsepower 3.0 liter V-6 engine built exclusively at the Honda
engine plant in Anna, Ohio. It features the exclusive Variable Valve
Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. The sporty,
driver-oriented 2.2CL is powered by an all-aluminum 2.2-liter in-line
VTEC four-cylinder engine.

Both CL's offer standard features such as an automatic climate control
system, premium AM/FM stereo system with in-dash CD player, a power
driver's seat, power windows and door mirrors, a power tilt-sliding
glass moonroof, and a remote keyless entry and security system. With
the Premium Package, both the 3.OCL and 2.2CL come outfitted with
leather-trimmed interiors. An electronically controlled 4-speed
automatic transmission is standard on the 3.OCL and optional on the
2.2CL.

Features unique to the 3.OCL include:
--Special 16-inch aluminum wheels;
-- A Bose six-speaker, 100-watt audio system;
-- An 8-way power driver seat with power recline and the addition of a
   power walk-in feature with "fast forward" and "autoposition;"
-- Heated door mirrors;
-- Heated front seats (with Premium Package).

Both CL models also feature front-wheel drive, four-wheel
double-wishbone suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a standard
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and standard dual air bag Supplemental
Restraint System (SRS).

Like all Acura products, the CL Series is backed by a
four-year/50,000- mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty, as well as
Acura Total Luxury Care (TLC) Customer Satisfaction Program, which
provides 24-hour roadside assistance, concierge service, trip planning
and other benefits.
