Ford Announces Fourth Quarter Incentives on Selected 1996- and
1997-Models

DETROIT, Oct. 2 -- Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealers have
been informed of a wide range of retail cash or financing incentives
that will be available nationally from Ford and Ford Credit on certain
1996- and 1997- model cars and trucks during the fourth quarter of
1996.

Customers can choose from attractive cash incentives or below-market
finance rates ranging from a 3.9 APR on 24-month finance contracts to
a 7.9 APR on 48-month contracts through Ford Credit on most models.

Details of the available incentives follow. Regional incentives also
may be available and may vary from national incentives. Customer cash
may be applied toward vehicle purchase or 24-month Red Carpet Lease.
All APRs indicated below apply only to retail purchases. These
incentives are available on vehicles delivered during the program
dates.

$500 Customer Cash OR APR of 3.9 for 24 Months, 5.9 for 36 Months, or
7.9 for 48 months, effective 10-2-96 through 1-3-97. Available on
