Audi of America Announces 1997 Pricing - New Four-Cylinder A4
Represents Best Value in Luxury Car Market

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 25 -- Audi of America,
Inc. announced that its new Audi A4 1.8 T sports sedan will be
introduced this fall at a base price of $22,990, making it the most
affordable luxury sedan to be sold in the United States.

The Audi A4 1.8 T -- on sale in November -- is a four-door German
sports sedan equipped with the automaker's new 1.8 liter, five-valves
per cylinder turbocharged four-cylinder. This technologically advanced
engine produces 150 horsepower and is designed to provide an optimal
blend of performance and fuel economy.

"With its dynamic performance, style and affordable value, the new A4
1.8 T will broaden the market appeal of Audi's very popular A4 model
that was introduced last year in a six-cylinder version," said Ken
Moriarty, marketing director, Audi of America. "More than ever, it
dramatically positions Audi as the value leader among European luxury
automakers."

Standard equipment on the A4 1.8 T includes ABS, fully automatic
climate control, stereo cassette, an anti-theft alarm system,
one-touch power windows, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, central
locking and more.

Optional equipment on all A4 sedans and the larger A6 sedan and wagon
includes Audi's full-time, all-wheel-drive quattro system priced at
$1,600 for 1997.

Audi also announced pricing on its 1997 A8 premium luxury
sedan. Available at dealerships in late October, this new model will
be offered in two V8 versions, a 3.7 and 4.2. The front-wheel-drive A8
3.7 is priced at $56,900; the quattro-equipped A8 4.2 is priced at
$64,500. The Audi A8 will be, the first car in the U.S. to be equipped
with six airbags which includes side airbags for both the front and
rear outboard occupants.

The A8 is Audi's ground-breaking entry into the high-end German luxury
car market. Supremely appointed, the A8 employs a revolutionary
aluminum space frame body technology that delivers extraordinary
weight savings with best-in-class safety, performance and comfort.

Base prices for the rest of the Audi line up are as follows: the 1997
A4 2.8 at $27,430 (vs. $26,500 in 1996); the 1997 A6 at $32,600
(vs. $32,300 in 1996), the 1997 A6 Wagon at $34,400 (vs. $34,000 in
1996).

For 1997, Audi will reposition the Cabriolet and offer a value leader
base model that will be priced at $34,600 (vs. $36,800 in 1996) with
leather seating, a power top, wood trim and remote locking made
optional in a Premium Equipment Package (standard in 1996).

The destination charge for all 1997 Audis (not included in MSRP) is
$500 (vs. $475 in 1995).
