Nissan to Introduce Fancy Station Wagons
09/26/96
Nikkei English News reported that Nissan Motor Co. will debut a new luxury station wagon lineup on Oct. 3, in Japan. The company calls the new car Stagea, and its line centers around a model with a 2,500cc engine. Nissan projects monthly sales of 5,000 cars. Currently the Japanese market for luxury wagons is estimated at about 1,000 cars a month, but Nissan thinks the Stagea will attract owners who want to replace family sedans, as there are no directly competitive Japanese models on the market.
